It's time for the Wellesley in Central and Coastal Virginia Summer Hoop-la!
Join us a the home of Cheri Harrell Anthony, '97, to send off our current and future Wellesley students. You'll also meet some of this year's Book Award winners. And, as always, it's a great chance to mingle with other area alumnae and catch up.
The "Hoop-la" event theme recalls the Wellesley College tradition of hoop rolling. Way back in the day, it was proclaimed that whoever won the Hoop Roll would be the first to get married. In the status-seeking 1980s, she was the first to be CEO. Now we just say that the winner will be the first to achieve happiness and success, whatever that means to her. Some things haven't changed, though - the winner still has the honor of being thrown into Lake Waban by her classmates!
Please RSVP so we know how many to expect. We hope to see you at the summer "Hoop-la"!
